Hey Guys,
This has probably been asked many times before. But whats the best deep cycle marine battery you have used for your electronics.
I've tried DIEHARD/EXIDE/INTERSTATE & all I seem to be getting is about 2 years out of them before they don't hold their charge well.
Looking for a better longer lasting & hopefully better warranty battery. i use a 2 a starter 24 & a 30 for bait tank, electronics, lights, washdown etc.
Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Hey There, Ive had very good luck with the Trojans, I have a pair of group 30s deep cycle, I want to say Im going on my fifth season.
Right wrong or indiferent I leave the switch on both and can run everything all day with out a problem(two bait tanks, two radios, meter, gps, wash down, etc) and still start my 350hp Yami at the end of the day..

Hey Larry
Thanks for the input, I was considering the Trojan brand & also looking into the lifeline batteries, I've heard good things, but its better to get info from those who have actually used them.
I used to have 2 group 30s on my old hydra-sports & they worked great, but now on my cortez I've yet to find a good house battery,
I might try to the trojan brand next.
At the COCC my house battery was giving me issues. So I'll replace it before sat.
Thanks Again I really appreciate it

Delco Voyager. Just replaced one after 9 years . 1st 4 years were for tm and the last 5 were for house batt. Been running them for 15 years with no failures. You dont have to water them like your lawn so thats a plus too. Tried a Trojan once was good for a season. The optimas sound like they are great but you can buy 2 of the Delco for that price. _________________ The BASSTARDS are back!

I ended up replacing my house battery with a 31 Trojan right last week before the event, I'll see how that works for now, I got it for $150 out the door.
Hopefully it will last and once my starter battery goes, I'll see about replacing it with the same or an Optima or AC Delco.
Thanks for the insight,

I got delco voyagers now for my trolling motor batteries. I have had them for less than a year and they arent holding a charge very well anymore. When I first got them I couldnt wear them out, but now I am lucky if I get 2/3 of an outing on em. How often were you refilling them? Any ideas on what I can do to make them better.. thanks _________________ Michael

I have the West Marine Deep Cycle batteries for my troller and they have held up great for over a year. I put them on the charger after every trip. The good thing is that are cheap, so if I have to replace them every couple years it's no big deal... _________________ Erik Landesfeind

Wait a minute snook lips! Every other tourney you talk about how your TM ran out of juice.....is this just your (sorry i kicked your a**) speech. I must say, your short term memory loss lasts longer than your batteries

Doug, we killed our battery in the SMB event, but we ran it full blast (on autopilot) for 6 hours to do it. In SB, the battery in the remote died...
We killed our TM batteries again today in MB, but that was after another 6 hours on full blast with autopilot in 20+ MPH winds...
I'm going to look into one of those rigs that charges the TM from the main, but other than that I'm happy with the West Marine batteries. _________________ Erik Landesfeind
